Video
The video compilation for The Best of 1990–2000 came in two main formats. The VHS edition simply offered one music video for each of the album's sixteen tracks. The DVD version was more elaborate, providing one or two videos per song, plus seven extra videos for tracks that did not appear on the album. It also included directors' commentaries and three mini-documentaries. Regardless of the format, no video for "The First Time" was ever made or released, so the slot for that song was filled with the video for "The Fly," a track that itself appeared on some versions of the album. The DVD case contained two disc slots: one held the main video disc, while the other was meant for the "History Mix" DVD from the "A and B sides" version of the album. Since that disc was not included, a paper disc shaped like a CD or DVD was used as a placeholder.
The compilation features multiple videos for several songs. "Even Better Than the Real Thing" includes a Kevin Godley video with commentary and a Ritchie Smyth remix video. "Mysterious Ways" has a Stéphane Sednaoui video with commentary. "Beautiful Day" offers a Jonas Åkerlund video with commentary. "Electrical Storm" includes an Anton Corbijn video with commentary and the documentary "U2 Sur Mer." For "One," there are videos by Anton Corbijn and Phil Joanou, both with commentary, plus the documentary "A Story of One." "Miss Sarajevo" features a Maurice Linnane video with commentary and the documentary "Missing Sarajevo." "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)" has a Wim Wenders video with commentary. "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" includes videos by Joseph Kahn and Kevin Godley, both with commentary. "Gone" is represented by a David Mallet video excerpt from PopMart: Live from Mexico City. "Until the End of the World" offers a Kevin Godley live video from the Zoo TV Tour. "The Hands That Built America" has a Maurice Linnane studio version video. "Discothèque" includes a Stéphane Sednaoui video with commentary. "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" features a Godley/Linanne video with commentary. "Staring at the Sun" has a Jake Scott video with commentary and a Morleigh Steinberg video. "Numb" includes a Kevin Godley video with commentary and an Emergency Broadcast Network remix video. "The Fly" offers a Smith/Klein remix video with commentary. "Please" has an Anton Corbijn video with commentary.
