Characters

The characters share the names of various historic figures in Feudal Japan, with their given names spelled out in katakana. Yoshino, nicknamed "Hideyoshi" after Toyotomi Hideyoshi, is a ditsy schoolgirl transported to an alternate Feudal Japan made up of women. She struggles to fit in and brings modern ethics to the era, finding uses for her mobile phone despite no reception. She becomes Oda's retainer after showing skill with a staff, though she cannot fight or use magic. Oda Nobunaga is a feudal lord who desires pieces of a mystical armor to unite nations. Short-tempered and aggressive, she becomes more benevolent under Hideyoshi's influence. She wields a large sword, controls flames, and carries a kiseru given by her grandmother Nobubasa. Akechi Mitsuhide is Nobunaga's humble aide, bemused by Hideyoshi's odd behavior and secretly infatuated with Nobunaga. She seeks the Crimson Armor to make Nobunaga happy and is jealous of Hideyoshi's interactions with her. She resembles one of Hideyoshi's classmates and is nicknamed "Akerin." Her weapon is the kunai. Date Masamune, a warrior affiliated with Nobunaga and Mitsuhide, is secretly Hideyoshi's teacher from the present. She traveled back in time to find the Crimson Armor after witnessing a family member from the distant future, aiming to put Japan's history under her family's rule. She cannot fight and has no magical abilities. Imagawa Yoshimoto is a feudal lord who uses a yumi and lost the left leg of the Crimson Armor to Nobunaga in a game. She finds Nobunaga fun and views Tokugawa as a cute little sister; she is revealed to be a yuri fan.
