Chris Bridges is credited as the series creator, while Wendy Harris, Rachel Kalban, and Jennie Stacey developed the show. Ludacris consistently cited his daughter's name and spirit as the driving force behind the project, and he drew on the Fast & Furious franchise as a model for assembling a cast of positive role models from varied ethnic backgrounds. A Neighborhood Full of Voices

Set in a fictional Brooklyn neighborhood called Hansberry Heights, the series builds a rich ensemble around its young protagonist. Four Seasons in Eighteen Months

Karma's World moved quickly from announcement to completion. After Netflix confirmed the series in October 2020, the official trailer dropped on September 23, 2021, and the first episode premiered on YouTube on October 4. The full first season then hit the platform worldwide on October 15, 2021. Momentum carried the show through three additional seasons in rapid succession: Season 2 arrived on March 10, 2022, Season 3 followed on July 7, 2022, and the fourth and final season concluded the run on September 22, 2022. Throughout this compressed timeline, the creative team remained focused on what Ludacris called a "long-lasting impression" on young viewers. Head writer Halcyon Person spoke to Essence in November 2021 about the team's deliberate effort to get authentic storytelling right, particularly around Karma's hairstyle and the experiences of Black characters. The writers also collaborated with the Perception Institute, an organization that studies how people perceive others, to thoughtfully address microaggressions within the scripts.
