Mount Hakurei
A sacred mountain whose purifying barrier hid Naraku while he grew a new body.
Mount Hakurei was a holy mountain in feudal Japan, covered in flowers from its foothills to its peak, where no yōkai dared to go. Its power came from Hakushin, a revered monk who had tried to become a living Buddha as he died; Naraku later won him over, and Hakushin's spirit raised a barrier around the mountain that kept out yōkai and impure humans alike.
Naraku hid inside that barrier while he built himself a stronger body after Inuyasha and Sesshōmaru had badly wounded him.

Background
To buy time, Naraku brought the Band of Seven back to life with Shikon Jewel shards. As humans they could pass the barrier, while it sickened Shippō and Kirara, weakened Sesshōmaru and turned Inuyasha human. Miroku and Sango went deep into the mountain and found Hakushin's mummy, and Kikyō then persuaded the monk to lift the barrier and let his soul rest.
With the barrier gone, Naraku's miasma turned the mountain barren and made it part of his body. He emerged with his new form, then destroyed Mount Hakurei as he left.
