Hina Khan (born 2 October 1987) is an Indian actress working in Hindi and Punjabi film and television. Known for moving between family dramas, reality shows, and psychological thrillers, she is among the highest-paid television actresses in India and has won three ITA Awards, three Indian Telly Awards, and seven Gold Awards. She is best known for playing Akshara Maheshwari Singhania on *Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai* (2009–2016) and later earned critical praise for her negative role on *Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2* (2018–2019).

Khan was born in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, and earned an MBA in 2009 from the CCA School of Management in Gurgaon. While studying in Delhi, friends pushed her to audition for *Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai*, and she was cast. She moved to Mumbai and debuted on television in 2009, starring in the long-running soap for eight years before leaving in November 2016. Her performance won multiple awards. In 2017, she finished as first runner-up on *Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8* and later as first runner-up on *Bigg Boss 11*. In early 2018, she shot a Punjabi music video with Sonu Thukral, followed by a short film, *SmartPhone*, with Kunaal Roy Kapur. Another music video, “Bhasoodi,” came out in July 2018. That October, she took the antagonist role of Komolika on *Kasautii Zindagii Kay*, leaving in April 2019 and being replaced by Aamna Sharif. That same year, she signed her debut film *Lines*, opposite Farida Jalal.

In January 2019, she signed the short film *Soulmate* with Vivan Bhatena. In May, she shot Rahat Kazmi’s short *Wish List* with Jitendra Rai. In September, she began filming Kazmi’s Indo-Hollywood movie *The Country of the Blind* as Gosha, and also signed the digital series *Damaged 2*. In January 2020, she signed a ZEE5 horror film with Kushal Tandon. She made a cameo in the fifth season of *Naagin* alongside Dheeraj Dhoopar and Mohit Malhotra.
