Great Britain men's national ice hockey team

The Great Britain men's national ice hockey team, often called Team GB, represents the United Kingdom in international play. It has been a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since the organization was founded in 1908, and Ice Hockey UK runs the squad.
In the early 1900s, the team was a dominant force. It claimed the first IIHF European Championship in 1910, took bronze at the 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix, France, and won Olympic gold in 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. That gold-medal roster was largely made up of dual-national British Canadians who had learned the game in Canada.
After that peak, the team struggled to make an impact. It did not return to the top-level World Championship until 2019, having last played there in 1994. The team’s most recent Olympic appearance was in 1948.
