Egypt men's national ice hockey team

The Egypt men's national ice hockey team (Arabic: منتخب مصر لهوكي الجليد) represents Egypt in men's ice hockey. The country is not a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and has no official national governing body for the sport. Despite this, the team has taken part in international competitions, such as the 2023 Arab Cup. Because no official national team exists, players of all ages compete under the private name Egypt Ice Hockey. Recreational ice hockey in Egypt began in 2002 at the Maadi Family Land Ice Rink in Cairo. In 2016, an unofficial club team called the Pharaohs started playing against other regional club teams, including at the 2018 and 2020 Arab Club Championship. The Pharaohs also won Division II of the 2022 Amerigol LATAM Cup, a tournament mainly for teams from Latin America and the Caribbean. This team is often registered as the Egypt Ice Hockey Club. The Egyptian Olympic Committee, a government body, officially appointed a preliminary group of managing members to promote ice hockey in Egypt. However, no official federation has been registered, and no full-sized IIHF-approved rink currently exists in the country. Egypt's first game as an official national team was at the 2023 Arab Cup in Kuwait, where they lost to Oman 9–4. The second game against the eventual Arab Cup champion, Lebanon, was their biggest international loss (7–0). Egypt was scheduled to play Saudi Arabia next, but the Saudi team was unofficially represented by the club Jeddah Eagles. The Jeddah Eagles played Egypt on 10 May 2023 and lost 7–0. This victory over a club or "B" team did not count toward Egypt's official international record.
