The Serbia and Montenegro men's national ice hockey team represented the country of Serbia and Montenegro. It began as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) team after the breakup of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in April 1992. The FRY team took over the previous Yugoslav national team's spot in the IIHF World Championships when it re-entered international play in 1995. In 2003, the team was renamed to match the FRY's new name, Serbia and Montenegro. Following the country's split in 2006, the Serbia national ice hockey team inherited the team's place and history in the IIHF World Championships.
