Prior to 2008, no organized leagues existed, and an unofficial national team composed of players from selected clubs competed in regional tournaments. One such team, 'Manila Pilipinas,' finished as second runners-up in the Bauhinia Division of the HKAHC Invitational Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament in 2005.
