Martínez began his senior career with Argentine Primera División side Racing Club, before signing with Inter Milan in 2018 in a transfer worth €22.7 million. In his second season with the club, he helped them reach the Europa League final before combining with Romelu Lukaku in a formidable duo to help them win their first Serie A title in 11 years. Following Lukaku's departure from the club, Martínez became Inter's sole striker. He has since won two more Serie A titles and three Coppa Italias, including a double in 2025–26.
