Conformity vs. Individuality
Lines of mind-controlled people, and a boy who may be controlled too.
In Inside's city, lines of zombie-like people are moved through mind control, and the boy can use a mind-control helmet to control some of them to solve puzzles.
Lore & Background
Journalists and players have offered several theories about the endings. One holds that the Huddle controls the boy for most of the game, drawing him to free it; another that scientists steer him; a more metafictional reading, summarised by Eurogamer's Jeffrey Matulef, is that the boy is controlled by a renegade force represented by the player. In the alternate ending the boy unplugs a mind-control helmet's power and then takes the same stance as the zombies.
