Fierce guard dogs are among the first threats in Inside. Running through a forest, the boy meets masked guards with flashlights, vehicles with mounted spotlights and their dogs.

Being mauled by dogs is one of the ways the boy can die, and dog barks are among the few sounds in the mostly silent game. After escaping the guards, he crosses a road where more vehicles and guards have set up a block.
