Manmohini is a Hindi supernatural romantic television series created by Prateek Sharma under LSD Films. It aired on Zee TV from November 2018 through July 2020, replacing Kaleerein in its timeslot. The series ran for two seasons, with the first featuring Reyhna Malhotra, Giaa Manek, Ankit Siwach, and Garima Singh Rathore in lead roles.
Plot
For five centuries, the witch Mohini has been waiting to act on her love for Rana Saa, which was never returned. When he is reborn as Ram, a businessman living with his wife Siya and half brother Vivian, her feelings are stirred. Ram and Siya are close to divorce, but Siya learns about Mohini and decides to stay married to protect him. In their past life, Rana Saa was wed to Rajrajeshwari.
Mohini worked as a maid in the palace and loved Rana. She tricked him into being hurt by enemy fighters, whom she then defeated with her dark magic. After she saved him, Rana promised to help her anytime. Mohini then said she was carrying his child, claiming they had been together to save his life.
Rana, shocked and guilty, went to a pregnant Rajrajeshwari, admitted his mistake, and told her to leave him. Mohini showed her true self and cut Rajrajeshwari’s throat. Rana rushed her to a temple and asked the priestess to save their baby. After the child was born, Rajrajeshwari warned Mohini that in every lifetime, a devoted wife of Rana’s reincarnation would free him from her grip.
Present day
She then died. In the present, Siya tries to rescue Ram from Mohini. Mohini tricks Ram into spending one night with her in return for lifting her curse from Siya. Ram agrees unwillingly and tells Mohini to stay away forever.
Five years later
Siya is saved, and life goes back to normal. Ram and Siya are happier but cannot have a child. A five-year-old boy appears mysteriously, and they adopt him, calling him Mann. He shows dark powers and causes trouble between them.
It is later revealed that he is Mohini and Ram’s son, sent to destroy their lives. Siya decides to keep Mann and turn him human to remove his evil abilities. Mohini kills a pregnant Siya and Ram at the same time. The story ends when Mohini is killed.
Production
The show's production stopped indefinitely in late March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming was paused on 19 March 2020, with a planned restart on 1 April 2020.
The final broadcast before the halt was on 24 March 2020, using already-filmed episodes. The series was originally scheduled to conclude in April 2020, but this was delayed. It eventually returned with fresh episodes on 14 July 2020, and the final episode aired on 22 July 2020.
