The Legend of Hanuman is an Indian animated series produced by Graphic India and created by Sharad Devarajan, Jeevan J. Kang, and Charuvi Agrawal for Disney+ Hotstar. It tells the story of how God Mahadev takes the form of Hanuman to serve God Rama, charting Hanuman’s journey from a powerful fighter into a deity and his emergence as a symbol of hope in a time of deep darkness.
The first season, consisting of 13 episodes, was released on January 29, 2021. A second season of 13 episodes was announced on July 27, 2021. A third season, with 6 episodes, came out on January 12, 2024. The fourth season was announced on April 23, 2024, to coincide with Hanuman Jayanti, and aired from June 5, 2024, to July 11, 2024. A fifth season premiered on October 25, 2024, and a sixth season aired on April 11, 2025.
The voice cast includes Sanket Mhatre as Shree Ram, Surbhi Pandey as Sita, Damandeep Singh Baggan as Hanuman and the Void Demon, Vikrant Chaturvedi as Sugreev, Richard Joel as Lakshmana, Sharad Kelkar as Ravana, Rohan Jadav as teenage Ravana, Shakti Singh as Jambavana, Sahil Vaid as Vali (Season 1) and Ahiravana (Seasons 3–5), Toshi Sinha as Shurpanakha, Rajesh Jolly as Sampati, Aadityaraj Sharma as Hariya, Pushkar Vijay as Angada, Rohan Verma as Nala, Shailendra Pandey as Vayu, Surendra Bhatia as Valakhilya and Sage Vishrava, Vikram Kochhar as Suketu, Amit Deondi as Nila, Ganesh Divekar as Indrajit, Gireesh Sahdev as Vibhishana, Ghanshyam Shukla as Vajramushti, Anup Shukla as Kumbhakarna, Mohak Ninad as Virupaksha, Siddharth Awasthi as Mahodra, Uday Sabnis as Yamaraj, and Rajeev Raj as Watcher and Squinter (Season 4).
In production, the team uses animatics to let actors perform rather than simply dubbing over finished animation. Co-creator Charuvi Agrawal handles the character design. The series premiered globally on Disney+ Hotstar on January 29, 2021, in seven Indian languages with 5.1 audio.
