Kavach (TV series)

Kavach is a supernatural horror drama television series broadcast on Colors TV and produced by Balaji Telefilms. The show draws from the legend of Savitri and Satyavan. It comprises two seasons: the first, *Kavach... Kali Shaktiyon Se*, and the second, *Kavach... Maha Shivratri*.

The first season premiered on 11 June 2016 and ran for 47 episodes, concluding on 20 November 2016. It starred Mona Singh as Paridhi, Vivek Dahiya as Rajbeer, and Sara Khan as Manjulika.

The second season, consisting of 42 episodes, premiered on 25 May 2019 and ended abruptly on 27 October 2019. Its cast included Deepika Singh Goyal as Sandhya, Namik Paul as Angad, and Vin Rana as Kapil.

The plot of the second season centers on a temple of Lord Shiva in Devlali, located near a cremation ground. According to local belief, an unmarried woman who worships there on Mahashivratri night will see her future husband’s face, and evil spirits roam freely at that time. Sandhya, an unmarried woman, visits the temple and is shown a man’s face by Lord Shiva. She is engaged to Angad, whom she suspects of infidelity, and later meets the man from her vision as Angad’s best friend, Kapil. Kapil repeatedly saves Sandhya from accidents. She decides to marry Angad, but on the wedding day, she ends up marrying Kapil first, as it is revealed that Kapil is an evil entity seeking revenge for two years. Sandhya eventually learns the truth, breaks her marriage with Kapil, and marries Angad. However, Angad becomes possessed by Kapil, who murders Ashutosh and attempts to impregnate Sandhya. With Lord Shiva’s help, the possessed Angad reveals the truth to Sandhya, who ties a rudraksha around his neck to protect him.

Sandhya discovers Kapil’s past: he was once a just man living with his wife Sakshi and son. Sakshi is later revealed to be Sandhya’s abandoned twin sister and the lost daughter of Usha and Vinayak. After Kapil and his family were murdered by Ashutosh, Manoj, Bhairavi, and Jolly, he and Sakshi became vengeful spirits. Sandhya tries to stop the killings, and with the help of priests, Kapil’s spirit is forced to leave Earth—but not before he has a physical relationship with Sandhya, leaving her pregnant with his child. She decides to keep the baby with support from Angad and their families, giving birth to a son named Prem. Sakshi’s spirit, blaming Sandhya for her abandonment, kidnaps Prem.
