Career

Before college, Guerriero was a dominant junior player. He topped the NAHL in scoring in 2001 and guided the Texas Tornado to a league title. That fall, he enrolled at Northeastern University and quickly became a key offensive contributor. Over his four years there, the Huskies never reached elite status, but in his senior season he served as captain and earned All-American honors. After his college campaign ended, he signed with the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers to finish the year. His first full pro season took him to Finland, but he returned to the AHL the next year. He then spent most of two seasons with the Milwaukee Admirals, putting up steady but unspectacular numbers. In 2008 he went back to Europe, splitting time between two clubs. With Alba Volán Székesfehérvár, he helped secure a Hungarian championship. The following season, he shared the scoring lead for the Schwenninger Wild Wings and led them to a regular-season title. He played one more year in Denmark before retiring. Guerriero moved into coaching in 2011 as an assistant at Holy Cross. After two years there, he took a similar role at Yale, then joined Brown two years later. He remained with the Bears and was promoted to associate head coach in 2019. Today, he serves as USA Hockey’s New England player development director.
