Remothered: Broken Porcelain

Remothered: Broken Porcelain, a survival horror game released in 2020, was developed and published by Modus Games for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. It follows 2018's *Remothered: Tormented Fathers* and functions as both a prequel and a sequel. The story centers on Jennifer, a rebellious orphan working as a maid at the Ashmann Inn, where the staff has succumbed to murderous insanity. Meanwhile, Rosemary Reed continues her investigation into Celeste Felton's disappearance. The game was announced on April 11, 2019, at the Italian Video Game Awards in Rome by Darril, who had just won Best Italian Game for *Tormented Fathers*. Critical reception was largely negative.

Set in 1973, Jennifer is sent to the Ashmann Inn—once the RossoGallo Farms—after being expelled from an all-girls boarding school. She injures herself trying to escape the inn, owned by Stefano Ashmann, whose family partnered with Arianna Gallo, Richard Felton, and Professor Albert Elias Wyman. Jennifer has a strained relationship with fellow maid Linn, a former friend. After witnessing head maid Andrea Massino feed a sick crow to a masked man (apparently Wyman), Jennifer fights Andrea, steals her master key, and is thrown down stairs by the masked figure. She wakes to staff claiming Wyman died by suicide two years prior, but Linn warns her the staff believes she is Celeste Felton. Linn explains Jennifer's immunity to Phenoxyl's side effects—inherited from her mother's use of the drug during pregnancy—makes her valuable. Captured by Stefano and Andrea, Jennifer learns she is Felton's biological daughter (Felton was forced to live as a man) and Stefano is her illegitimate father, conceived through rape. Escaping, she meets Elisa, who reveals the staff is brainwashed via loudspeakers. Jennifer heads to the basement, finds a Phenoxyl lab, and learns of a "Mother Acherontia" who controls infected individuals telepathically, risking a "fracture/porcelain phase" that creates a hypnotic loop. She also discovers Stefano and Wyman orchestrated a fire at the Cristo Morente convent to prevent Gloria Ashmann from seizing control; Gloria survived and now works as Elisa. Jennifer and Linn escape by car, but Linn admits Gloria tricked her into destroying Wyman's broadcast, allowing Gloria full control.
