Camp Blood is a 1999 American direct-to-video slasher film written and directed by Brad Sykes. It follows a young woman and her friends who travel to a deserted camp and are attacked by a killer clown. The film spawned seven official sequels, one official spin-off, and one unofficial film.
Background
The film opens with birdwatcher Sally and photographer Victor making love in the woods of Camp Blackwood. They are attacked by a person in a boiler suit and clown mask wielding a machete. The story then focuses on Tricia, her boyfriend Steve, Steve's friend Jay, and Jay's girlfriend Nicole, who travel to Camp Blackwood despite Tricia's reservations due to a newspaper report about Sally's disappearance.
At the camp, they meet a guide named Harris, who later tells them the legend of Stanley Cunningham, a man who murdered his girlfriend and her lover at the camp twenty years prior. The group is picked off one by one by the clown, with Tricia eventually discovering that Harris is the killer. The film ends with Tricia in a padded room, accused of the murders, as she hallucinates the clown.
