Plot
A cloaked kung fu expert arrives in town and humiliates local masters with his superior skill. After encountering a humble master and his three students, the fighter continues his arrogant mission, leaving more reputations ruined. The defeated master is shattered by his loss of face, prompting his three students to seek revenge. Aware of their limitations, they split up to find worthy teachers. The first student meets an eccentric Crane style master who beats him before agreeing to teach precise Crane movements. The second encounters a bean curd seller and her blind father; after a misunderstanding, the woman teaches him legwork. The third learns pole-fighting from a fisherman following a failed attempt to steal fish. Meanwhile, the shamed master sharpens his swordplay skills between drinking bouts.
