Life and work
Kapoor is informally called "Lolo" at home, a nickname her mother gave her after the actress Gina Lollobrigida.[3][4] She made her acting debut in 1991 at age 16 with the romantic drama Prem Qaidi.[5] In 1997, she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for Dil To Pagal Hai.[6][7] She married industrialist Sunjay Kapur on 29 September 2003, and they had a daughter and a son before divorcing in 2016.[8][9]
For her performance as the title character in the 2000 crime drama Fiza, Kapoor collected a second Filmfare Award for Best Actress.[10]
What the cited sources add
A Vogue article notes that Kapoor is the first and only woman in the Kapoor family's fourth generation to have inherited blue-green eyes.[3] The same source states that neither Raja Hindustani nor Dil To Pagal Hai were originally written for her, and she was not the first choice for either role.[3] The Times of India reports that Kapoor was offered the role of Tina in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai but turned it down, after which the role went to Rani Mukerji.[7] The same review states that Salman and Kapoor acted well but got little support from the screenplay.[11]
