Plot
Hiro Nakamura and Ando Masahashi travel to India after Matt Parkman sends them prophetic images. Their goal is to prevent a wedding where the bride, Annapurna, is being forced to marry Deepak against her wishes. Ando talks to Annapurna and convinces her to call off the ceremony, making him the hero and sparking jealousy in Hiro. Deepak, enraged, kidnaps Ando and restarts the wedding. Hiro eventually stops the event and frees Ando, realizing the journey was meant to teach him that heroism does not require special powers. Later, the pair receive a fax from a mysterious figure named Rebel, who also contacts Claire Bennet, instructing them to rescue Matt Parkman.
Nathan Petrelli seeks additional funding but faces scrutiny when his new boss, Abby, investigates his activities. She discovers Tracy Strauss imprisoned and orders Nathan to shut down the operation. Abby changes her stance after witnessing Tracy escape and freeze a man to death before being returned to her cell, then grants Nathan unlimited funding. Tracy believes Nathan deliberately left the door unlocked and weakened her chains so Abby would see the truth, and warns Nathan she will eventually break free. Nathan and Danko both realize Danko orchestrated the entire scheme without Nathan's knowledge.
Sylar and Luke Campbell travel west to locate Sylar's birth parents. Luke tries to befriend Sylar, but tension grows between them. At a diner, Sylar expresses that his only goal is to find his birth father. Luke gives him the address out of sympathy, but Nathan's men capture Luke while Sylar escapes after telling Luke he no longer needs him. Sylar returns, kills the men, rescues Luke, and steals a laptop. He claims he only came back for the laptop to learn how he was being tracked, but Luke's questioning suggests Sylar may have a softer side.
