Kirill Gotovets

Playing career

Kirill Gotovets spent four seasons with Cornell University from 2010 to 2014. He was originally picked 183rd overall in the seventh round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. In April 2013, his NHL rights were traded to the Chicago Blackhawks for Philippe Paradis. He was also a first-round pick in the 2009 KHL Junior Draft. In July 2014, he signed a one-year AHL contract with the Blackhawks’ affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs. The next June, he signed another one-year AHL deal with Rockford for the 2015–16 season. During the 2014–15 season, he played mostly for the ECHL’s Indy Fuel but was called up to Rockford late in the regular season and appeared in eight Calder Cup Playoff games, scoring the game-winner in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

After two seasons with the IceHogs, Gotovets left as a free agent and signed a one-year contract with HC Dinamo Minsk of the KHL in July 2016. In the 2016–17 season, he played 24 games and recorded 5 points. He returned to North America in July 2017 on a one-year AHL deal with the Manitoba Moose, the Winnipeg Jets’ affiliate. In 2017–18, he played 57 games and put up 13 points. In May 2018, he went back to his hometown club, HC Dinamo Minsk, on a two-year contract. After that deal ended, he moved to Russian club Avangard Omsk on a one-year contract in May 2020. He spent two seasons with Avangard Omsk, winning the Gagarin Cup in 2021. He then left as a free agent and signed a two-year contract with HC Dynamo Moscow in May 2022.
