Last updated
The Weather god of Nerik was a Hittite weather deity primarily worshipped in the city of Nerik. He was also known as Nerak or Nerikkil. In the official Hittite state pantheon, he was considered the son of the Weather god of Ḫatti and the Sun goddess of Arinna, but at his cult centre in Nerik he was instead regarded as the son of Šulinkatte and Wurušemu, the Sun goddess of the Earth. His partner was the goddess Tešimi.
