Boo (2005 film)

Plot

Jessie Holden's boyfriend Kevin, along with their friends Freddy and Marie, invites her to spend Halloween night at Santa Mira Hospital, a place that was shut down years ago after a fire. Their friend Emmett is setting up props meant to frighten Jessie when a ghost attacks him and his dog, Dutchess. Meanwhile, Allan is looking for his sister Meg, who vanished a few days earlier with her friend Caitlin inside the hospital. Allan asks his father's old friend, Arlo Ray Baines, a former actor who became a cop, to go with him.

Baines says no at first but later changes his mind and follows Allan anyway. Allan comes across Dutchess, who is badly torn apart, but the dog suddenly gets up and attacks him. Allan shoots and blows her to pieces. On the third floor, he finds Meg, who tells him she lost track of Caitlin.

When the four friends get to the hospital, they start looking for Emmett. While alone, Kevin is unfaithful to Jessie by sleeping with Marie. Jessie, who turns out to be sensitive to spirits, tells Freddy about her mother, who died from an illness years ago but still calls her every Halloween. They find a frightened Emmett in the locker room.

Once the five of them are together, Emmett suddenly turns on them. Allan and Meg show up, and Meg uses Allan's gun to shoot Emmett into pieces. She explains that anyone who dies in the hospital comes back to life; Emmett and Dutchess are examples. Kevin, growing paranoid and thinking Marie might turn into a ghost, grabs the gun and kills her.

Since Meg refuses to take the elevator, the group splits up. Jessie, Kevin, and Freddy take Marie's body to the elevator, while Allan and Meg use the stairs. The first three end up on the third floor, where Jessie has visions about a child killer named Jacob. Jacob was locked up on the third floor, which was set aside for mental patients, but he still managed to kill a little girl inside the hospital.

When he tried to start a fire as a distraction to escape, Nurse Russell tossed away the keys to the door, trapping both of them in the blaze. Jacob has been killing people in the hospital and bringing them back to life so he can take over their bodies, but none of his attempts have worked. As they look around the floor, Kevin disappears.
