Production
Monika Mitchell directed the film, which was written by Ari Posner and Gregg Rossen. Nicollette Sheridan served as an executive producer alongside Alexandre Coscas, Francisco J. Gonzalez, and Shawn Williamson. Sheridan told Home & Family that a male producer who struggled to find childcare for his children brought the idea to her, noting that most women were busy and married, while most single men were the only ones available for babysitting. She stated to New York Live that her character Cass was one of the closest to herself she had ever played, describing Cass as very A-type, controlling, methodical, and structured. Filming took place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from January 29, 2016, to February 19, 2016, at locations including Kensington Prairie Farm and the Vancouver Art Gallery. Dan Payne commented in a behind-the-scenes look that the film would speak to people because it reminds viewers that family is a reliable unit that endures.
