Lore & Background
At the end of the 20th century, the United Nations Science Committee has collected all of Earth's monsters and confined them in Monsterland in the Ogasawara islands, with a control centre beneath the island.
The film opened in Japan on August 1, 1968, and in the United States on May 23, 1969, in an English dub from American International Pictures. Contemporary reviews were mixed, with praise for the climactic battle, and it has been better received since.
