Corporate history
ERM Electronic Systems Ltd was founded in May 1985 by Meir Hayman, initially focusing on vehicle security systems and using third-party facilities for manufacturing. In 1998, the company moved to a new location in western Rishon LeZion, where it launched its first SMT lines and began handling all design, manufacturing, and assembly in-house. Cellular network-based M2M technology gained popularity in March 2000, and ERM soon began producing its first telematics device, the SkyLink. In September 2006, Ituran acquired 51% of ERM and began transitioning its customers to GSM/GPS technology using ERM devices; ERM then launched the StarLink family of telematics products. The company rebranded as ERM Advanced Telematics in January 2013. In December 2013, ERM launched its patented Jamming Mitigation solution for the US and South America.
