Andreas Schnaas directed, co-starred in, and unleashed the 1999 German shot-on-video splatter comedy Violent Shit III: Infantry of Doom. Also known as Zombie Doom in North America, the film features Marc Trinkhaus, Uwe Grüntjes, and Winni Holl. It is the third chapter of the Violent Shit series, though none of the films are connected in a linear fashion. The film was shot outside of Hamburg, Germany in 1993, but due to financial concerns, it was not officially released until six years later.
Plot
Three men named Ron, Mark, and Peter abandon their boat in the middle of the ocean and come upon an uncharted island. They are captured by a gang of masked men and wake up tied to crucifixes in a large militia camp. The militia leader, Karl Berger, Jr. (known as The Meister), and his aging father Karl Sr. oversee gruesome executions. After Peter spits in Karl's face, he is stripped of his shirt and stakes are driven through his ribcage.
Ron, Mark, and a traitor named Leon are released into the forest to be hunted by Karl's army. Ron and Mark learn of the Meister's horrific experiments. Karl's surgeon Dr. Senius is creating deformed super soldiers to replace fallen troops. Karl threatens Senius with death if the first batch is not ready within 24 hours.
Leon leads the men to an armory; they kill two guards with handmade spears and take weapons. The surviving guard has his spinal cord torn from his anus with a large meat hook as punishment. Senius' super soldiers are released into the woods. Ron and Mark part with Leon, who gains help from two comrades named Son and Giang.
After the comrades dispatch the soldiers, they search for Ron and Mark. Ron and Mark are ambushed at a pond; their corpses arrive back at base with Ron split in half at the waist and the upper left corner of his head missing, and Mark's head split in two down the middle. Senius orders the responsible soldiers punished; Karl lines them up and shoots each in the head with a sawed-off double-barrel shotgun. When the third soldier runs, Karl shoots him in the kneecap and drowns him in a puddle.
Karl then deploys the Black Demons, a heavily trained gang of assassins, to hunt down the remaining traitors. After briefly confronting and killing the ninjas, Son, Giang, and Leon plan a full-scale attack at sundown. They reach the main gates disguised as Black Demons with a prisoner, kill the guards, and advance.
Leon steals an RPG, oversees the fight from a hill, and assists the others. After running low on ammo, Leon joins the fight on the ground, is impaled by a soldier wielding a machete, but takes the soldier's revolver and shoots him before dropping dead. Son hides outside Senius' tent and slices off his nose with a sword. Senius stumbles back into his tent, where an unfinished super-soldier asphyxiates him in his open torso and tears off his head.
Senius' headless body runs outside and Giang performs a coup de grâce with an Uzi. Son and Giang find Leon's body and hunt down Karl Sr. and Karl. They kill the remaining troops and engage in hand-to-hand combat. Son detaches Karl Sr.'s bodyguard's artificial arm and impales him with it.
Giang backflips over Karl, rams his fist through Karl's body from behind, and places a hand grenade in his mouth. Karl's head explodes, and he drops a rocket launcher. Giang shoots Karl Sr. with the rocket launcher, immolating him. The two exchange a high five before the credits roll.
