Snezhnaya

Lore & Background

The Fatui operate as the Tsaritsa's will made manifest, sending Harbingers to every corner of the world to secure power. While the citizens of Snezhnaya are often portrayed with suspicion by other nations due to their aggressive foreign policy, they are also a people enduring harsh conditions and a complex political landscape. The nation represents the ultimate counter-narrative in Teyvat: a place where faith is not placed in the gods as benevolent rulers, but where a god herself leads a crusade against the divine hierarchy.

Reader's Guide

Snezhnaya remains largely unexplored in gameplay, existing primarily as a narrative destination and a backdrop for Fatui operations. Its aesthetic is defined by brutalist architecture mixed with imperial grandeur, featuring towering stone structures that withstand the harshest blizzards. Key landmarks include the capital city, often depicted with massive spires and defensive fortifications designed to repel both enemies and the elements. The environment poses extreme hazards, primarily the freezing cold which can incapacitate travelers without proper protection or elemental resistance.

While no specific open-world quests currently allow players to roam freely, the region is central to the Archon Quests involving the Fatui Harbingers. Secrets of Snezhnaya are often uncovered through dialogue and cutscenes rather than exploration, hinting at a society deeply scarred by war and driven by a singular, tragic mission.
