World Quest: Rite of Descension

Lore & Background

Within the history of Teyvat, the 'descension' of gods is a pivotal theme. When the Seven Archons claimed their dominion over the nations following the cataclysm, they physically descended from Celestia to establish order across the mortal realm. This act is often poetically referred to in ancient texts as a rite or ceremony, marking the transition from divine isolation to earthly governance. While players cannot complete a specific mission titled 'Rite of Descension,' the narrative weight of this concept permeates stories involving Zhongli, Raiden Shogun, and others who embody their nations. The term is sometimes mistakenly applied to character progression systems where materials are used to enhance power, though canonically, that process is known as Ascension.

Reader's Guide

Since no official World Quest chain bears this title, players seeking related content should explore Archon Quests involving the Seven. For Liyue, investigate the 'Farewell, Archaic Lord' storyline to understand Zhongli's transition from Archon to mortal. In Inazuma, the 'Omnipresence Over Mortals' quest delves into how Raiden Shogun descended and ruled through eternity. These main storylines provide the actual narrative context often attributed to this misnamed concept. There are no specific rewards or achievements tied to a 'Rite of Descension.' Instead, focus on completing regional lore books and world quests that detail the history of the Seven Archons for similar thematic experiences.
