COG Combat Armor

COG Combat Armor is the standard-issue protective gear worn by Coalition of Ordered Governments soldiers. In Gears of War: Judgment, this armor is worn by members of Kilo Squad—including Damon Baird, Augustus Cole, Sofia Hendrick, and Garron Paduk—as they fight through the Locust invasion of Halvo Bay. The armor is seen throughout the game's campaign and multiplayer modes, providing protection during firefights against the Locust Horde and in COG versus COG battles.

Lore & Background

In Gears of War: Judgment, COG Combat Armor is worn by all members of Kilo Squad during their missions in Halvo Bay. The armor is depicted as standard issue for COG soldiers, including Onyx Guard cadets like Sofia Hendrick and former UIR soldiers like Garron Paduk. During the game's campaign, the armor is shown being used in various environments, from the Old Town district to the Museum of Military Glory, the Onyx Guard Academy, and the Seashore Hills mansion of Professor Elliot.

The armor is also worn by Colonel Ezra Loomis during the tribunal hearing and the subsequent Locust attack on the courtroom. In the Aftermath campaign, set during Gears of War 3, Baird, Cole, and Clayton Carmine wear the armor as they return to Halvo Bay to find a ship and reinforcements for the assault on Azura. The armor is also worn by Paduk's survivors, who have established a community in the ruins of the city.
