Background
It came out for Windows, Macintosh, Nintendo 3DS, iOS and Android. Like the Mario Kart series, players race on tracks and collect items and power-ups to slow other racers. Garfield and Jon are playable from the start, and Odie, Liz, Arlene, Nermal, Harry and Squeak can be unlocked.
There are three cups, Lasagna, Pizza and Hamburger, plus a hidden Ice Cream Cup, each with 4 maps, and three difficulties: 50cc, 100cc and 150cc.
Critics mostly gave it negative reviews for its unimaginative gameplay and low production value; Nintendo Life scored it 3/10. User reviews on Steam were very positive, many of them sarcastic, most likely because the game became an internet meme. A remake, Garfield Kart: Furious Racing, came out in 2019, and Microids announced a sequel in June 2025.
