Background
It is the third film in the animated series after Garfield Gets Real and Garfield's Fun Fest, and the fifth Garfield movie overall. Jim Davis wrote it, and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment released it on DVD and Blu-ray in the United States on June 16, 2009. Some countries, including Japan, Italy, Brazil and the UK, saw it in cinemas in 3-D.
On the planet Dorkon, Professor Wally shows Emperor Jon the Moscram ray gun, which can scramble objects and creatures into new ones. The villain Vetvix arrives to steal it and zombifies the Pet Force (Garzooka, Odious, Abnermal and Starlena), all but Garzooka, who escapes into the Comic World. There, Nermal finds that a new Pet Force comic book is showing events as they happen to Garfield and his friends.
It was the last Garfield film distributed by 20th Century Fox, and it stayed the most profitable film in the franchise until 2024.
