Summary
Yogi Bear must rescue Jellystone National Park after the evil ghost Jake steals the park's operating funds. The six stages range from a large city to the Wild West. There are no traditional power-ups; instead, collecting 100 picnic baskets grants an extra life. Hidden doors and areas lead to safes, where Yogi must gather 25 gold coins to form a gold bar. To achieve the best ending, Yogi needs 300 gold coins converted into 12 gold bars. Most enemies can be defeated by jumping on them, but some cannot be attacked. Falling into pits or hazards costs a life. The player starts with three lives and one continue.
Reception
GamePro described the game as an inoffensive but unimpressive Super Mario clone, while praising Twilight for creating an original Yogi Bear game rather than a port of the SNES Adventures of Yogi Bear. Electronic Gaming Monthly's four reviewers gave scores from 3 to 8 out of 10, averaging 5.5, with most calling it a generic platformer lacking challenge and originality. Power Unlimited awarded 75%, noting the Game Boy version requires more skill than the SNES version but is very short for experienced players. Allgame rated it 2.5 out of 5, calling it standard side-scrolling platform fare heavily borrowing from Super Mario Bros.
