The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) is the professional League of Legends esports league run by Riot Games in the EMEA region, in which ten teams compete. Each annual season is divided into three splits: Winter, Spring and Summer. All games are played live at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany.

Riot Games launched League of Legends in October 2009. The LCS was announced on 6 August 2012, with the first games in Europe on 9 February 2013. The league rebranded from EU LCS to LEC in 2019 and to League of Legends EMEA Championship in 2023. G2 Esports has the most champion titles with 18 in total.

The Riot Games Arena in Berlin has been the stage for defining moments in European League of Legends. It was from this studio that the LEC announced its partnership with Neom in 2020, only to face major community backlash over human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia, including criminalization of LGBT people. The partnership was called off the next day, and two days later, the league's Director of Esports EMEA, Alberto Guerrero, issued a statement apologizing to the community, with emphasis on apologizing to 'women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and League of Legends players in the Middle East'. The arena also witnessed the league's expansion in 2023, when Turkey, CIS and MENA merged with Europe to form the EMEA region, rebranding the league to the League of Legends EMEA Championship. Since then, the studio has hosted the new three-split format, with the top teams qualifying for international events: the First Stand Tournament, the Mid-Season Invitational, and the World Championship.
