Background
Joey, earning money after landing a role on Days of Our Lives, gives Chandler a gaudy gold bracelet as thanks for paying for his head shots and food in the past. Chandler mocks it, Joey overhears, and when Chandler loses the bracelet he buys a replacement; the original turns up at Central Perk and he gives one to Joey. Monica, fired and struggling to find a job, takes money from Ross after their parents Jack and Judy visit.
The friends watch the video of Monica and Rachel getting ready for their high-school prom. When Rachel's date Chip seemed to have stood her up, Ross put on his father's tuxedo to take her himself; Chip arrived at the last minute without Rachel knowing. Overwhelmed by the gesture, Rachel kisses Ross. In 1997 TV Guide ranked the episode No. 100 on its list of TV's 100 Greatest Episodes.
