Premise
While investigating a serial killer who mutilates and removes the internal organs of victims, New Orleans police detectives Carson O'Conner and Michael Sloane discover that Victor Frankenstein, now calling himself Victor Helios, is still alive. He has created genetically-engineered creatures to build a legion to overthrow humanity. His first creation, the original monster now named Deucalion, seeks to kill his creator.
Reception
Sloan Freer of Radio Times gave the film two stars, noting that the ultra-stylised visuals create an air of brooding menace but cannot compensate for patchy plotting and an unsatisfying finale. Brian Lowry of Variety praised the striking imagery and distinctive look, adding that while the climax is disappointing, the brisk story leaves room to speculate about a potential series.
