International versions

Fox promos called The Rich List the most addicting game show from the UK since Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, though it had not aired in Britain before the US version. Holmes hosted a pilot for ITV that was not picked up. The format later aired on BBC One as Who Dares Wins, hosted by Nick Knowles. In Australia, Seven Network acquired rights and announced a local version before the US premiere, hosted by Deal or No Deal host Andrew O'Keefe. A pilot was taped on 18 October 2006; episodes began taping for air on 11 December 2006. The show premiered on 29 January 2007 with the same bonus-round money amounts in Australian dollars. In Germany, Sat.1 produced The Rich List hosted by Kai Pflaume, with identical rules but a top prize of €100,000; it premiered as a three-night event on 26 May 2007 and then ran Saturdays and Sundays at 7:15 pm. In Greece, The Money List aired on ANT1 from 7 October 2008 until 2009, hosted by Christos Ferentinos. In New Zealand, TVNZ aired The Rich List on TV ONE with host Jason Gunn and a top prize of NZ$50,000; applications opened in April 2007. In North Macedonia, Листа за 300 aired on Sitel starting April 2019; the first season was hosted by Dejan Lilikj, the second by Marko Noveski. The top prize was 300,000 denars in season one, later decreased to €300. In Ireland, The Money List aired on RTÉ One from 1 October 2023, hosted by Baz Ashmawy, with a grand prize of €15,000.

Revival

GSN revived the show as The Money List, which debuted on June 13, 2009. Pilot episodes were filmed in London on the Who Dares Wins set at The London Studios from August 27 to 30, 2008, hosted by sports commentator Fred Roggin. The grand prize was $50,000. The revival concluded on August 15, 2009, after a single nine-episode season.
