Arthur Boyle

Reader's Guide

Arthur Boyle is a third generation Fire Soldier whose Ignition Ability allows him to fabricate and control plasma, powered entirely by his delusions of being a knight king. The more detached from reality he is, the stronger his powers become. He channels this plasma through a sword hilt medium he calls Excalibur, enabling him to cut, wield, and manipulate electricity. His name and abilities are directly inspired by the legendary British ruler King Arthur. Arthur developed a bitter rivalry with Shinra Kusakabe during their training days, a dynamic that continued after they joined the same company. Over time, this rivalry softened into a more friendly competition. His defining moment came during the final battle against the White Clad, where his delusions were augmented by Adolla leaking from the Great Cataclysm. In an epic confrontation, Arthur defeated Dragon, though the battle left him fatally wounded. He drifted out of Earth's orbit, and in his final act, unknowingly infused life into Excalibur. His combat style relies on his plasma blade for both offense and defense, using electricity-based attacks to overwhelm opponents. His strength is directly tied to his mental state, making him unpredictable but devastating when fully immersed in his knight king persona.
