Original Floater

A wobbler lure modeled after Lauri Rapala's 1936 prototype.

The Original Floater, a wobbler fishing lure from Rapala, traces back to founder Lauri Rapala’s 1936 creation in Finland. That first version used cork, tinfoil, and melted film negatives. It swims with a wounded baitfish wobble, inspired by Rapala’s boyhood observations of minnows. Now made in seven sizes and fourteen colors, it is Rapala’s top seller and possibly the world’s best-selling lure.
