Kevin Fischer is introduced as Jason Wise's best friend and the boyfriend of Carrie Dreyer. After Wendy's premonition saves him from the roller coaster derailment, he becomes her ally in understanding Death's design. He discovers the existence of Alex Browning, a visionary from the Flight 180 explosion, and learns that Death hunts survivors in the order they would have originally died. Using clues from Wendy's photographs, Kevin helps identify the fates of the other survivors. He is present when Frankie Cheeks is killed by an engine fan from Kevin's own truck, and later saves Julie Christensen from being impaled on a harrow at a tricentennial fair. Five months after the derailment, Kevin boards a subway train with Wendy and Julie, where Wendy has a premonition that the train will crash, and the three attempt to stop it.

Kevin Fischer is a survivor of the Devil's Flight roller coaster derailment. After the disaster, he researches Death's pattern, discovering the story of Alex Browning and the Flight 180 survivors. He works with Wendy Christensen to identify the order of death using photographs she took at the amusement park. Kevin is present for several deaths: Frankie Cheeks is killed by an engine fan from Kevin's truck; Lewis Romero is killed by a weight machine; Erin Ulmer is killed by a nail gun; Perry Malinowski is killed by a flagpole.
