Plot

Franklin Fausti, a tech blogger, seeks to expose unethical practices in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically targeting Sig Thorensen, whose company produced Zonastin—a painkiller that caused the addiction and death of Franklin's twin sister, Natalie. Franklin secures an interview with tech mogul Anton Burrell, who is about to unveil the Tri-Band 5, a wrist-worn device using neuro-technology to manage conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and addiction without medication. During Burrell's presentation, an armed assailant attacks, but Franklin intervenes and saves Burrell. Afterward, Franklin finds a ring dropped by Burrell that allows him to travel 57 seconds back in time. He initially uses it for personal gain, then refocuses on taking down Thorensen. Franklin infiltrates Thorensen's company, uncovers evidence of the company's knowledge of Zonastin's harm and involvement in employee Susan Miller's death, and with friend Andy, leaks the information to the media. Thorensen kidnaps Franklin and attempts to flee by plane, but the plane crashes due to police intervention, killing Thorensen. Burrell later invites Franklin to join his research team to develop time-travel technology, but Franklin declines, citing ethical concerns and the risk of addiction. He destroys the ring.
