Production
The film's story was developed by Kelsey Grammer's production company, Grammnet NH Productions, which aimed to involve his family, including his daughter Spencer, in the project. The father-daughter relationship in the movie was inspired by the real-life bond between Kelsey and Spencer. The film was produced by Synthetic Cinema International, based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, with help from Johnson Production Group. Filming took place at several Connecticut locations. A Keith's Appliances store in Norwich was used for some scenes; the main character's company, originally focused on electronics, shifted to include appliances due to the decline of small independent electronics shops. A penthouse at Mohegan Sun stood in for the character's New York home. Norm's Diner in Groton also served as a location, with one co-owner and one server appearing as extras. From September 20 to 24, 2022, filming occurred at the Charter Oak Federal Credit Union headquarters in Waterford. There, the conference room became the character's private office, the board room was the company's meeting space, the lobby became a hospital waiting room, and the door to the lending department was used as a surgery room entrance. Fake snow and ice were added to the main entrance. The overall shoot lasted at least two weeks, from September 2022 to October 6, 2022, in Mystic, Connecticut. Rain fell during outdoor filming, and green screens were used. Executive producers were Grammer, Tom Russo, and Jordan McMahon. Eirene Tran Donohue wrote the script, and Dustin Rikert directed.
