Last updated
Erik Killmonger, born N'Jadaka, is a supervillain in Marvel Comics who first appeared in Jungle Action #6 (September 1973).[1] He is a skilled hunter and mercenary from Wakanda who holds a grudge after his parents were killed when he was young.[1]
Making and release
In Black Panther vol. 3 #15-18 (February-May 2000), a story by Christopher Priest features Killmonger's return, during which he undermines Wakanda's financial stability.[2] After defeating T'Challa, Killmonger assumes the role of Black Panther, but during his ceremony to ascend, the heart-shaped herb poisons him.[3] A Killmonger from an alternate timeline, who overthrew Wakanda's king and merged with a Symbiote, appears in Black Panther (vol. 7).[4] Bast turns against him and obliterates his base, resulting in his death.[4]
Within the Ultimate Universe, an Earth-6160 alternate version of Killmonger is part of a group rebelling against Ra and Khonshu.[5]
What the cited sources add
Cardona reports that N'Jadaka, better known as Erik Killmonger, is the self-proclaimed emperor of an intergalactic cosmic nation.[6] Cardona notes that with a symbiote by his side, Killmonger presents a great battle for Black Panther.[6] Dyce states that someone has dug up the body of Erik Killmonger and it is about to fall into the hands of an angry god.[7] Adams also notes that Killmonger's hair has a Saiyan-flare to it, resting high atop his head.[8]
Amin describes that Peggy remembers Killmonger armed with the Infinity Stones from the fight to save the Multiverse.[9] Amin adds that Kahhori blasts Killmonger away, leaving behind only the Infinity Stone-encrusted suit.[9]
