Fictional character biography
While the JSA All-Stars battled the King of Tears, a beast summoned by Johnny Sorrow, Anna Fortune appeared after leaving her boyfriend Wildcat at home. She trapped the King of Tears in a gauntlet and revealed that Dr. Fate sent her, having once helped her out of a jam. She attempted to transport the team to the Subtle Realms to rescue Stargirl, but admitted she got the spell wrong and accidentally released the King of Tears. She fought alongside the All-Stars until Stargirl killed the beast by stabbing it in the heart. After returning to base, Anna joined the team. On a mission to Parador, Atom Smasher asked about her connection to Dr. Fate; Anna did not reveal her story but mentioned that the only flying machines in her day were hot air balloons, suggesting she comes from the past, likely the 19th or early 20th century. She later told Atom Smasher she was either twenty-six or a hundred and eighty-seven, implying her home time period is 1849.
