The Billion Dollar Boy is a 1997 science fiction novel by Charles Sheffield. Set centuries in the future, it follows Shelby Cheever, a wealthy teenager who accidentally enters a wormhole node without coordinates and ends up in a remote mining colony. The story is a retelling of Rudyard Kipling's 1897 novel Captains Courageous.
