Scorpius' Neural Interface
A chip in the mind that turned a hero into a hunted vessel for an enemy's ghost.
The Neural Interface in Farscape is best understood through its most significant manifestation: the neural chip implanted by Scorpius into John Crichton. This procedure occurred early in Season Two, creating a hallucination dubbed 'Harvey.' The interface served as a weapon and a conduit, allowing Scorpius to influence Crichton's behavior and hunt the wormhole knowledge hidden within his brain. Unlike a standard tool, this neural link created a mixed personality with extremely dark humor when it took complete control of Crichton at the end of Season Two.

Lore & Background
The story of the neural interface centers on the cat-and-mouse game between Scorpius and John Crichton. Early in Season Two, Scorpius implanted a neural chip into Crichton's head to extract the wormhole knowledge The Ancients had deposited there. This implant generated hallucinations of 'Harvey,' a neural clone of Scorpius that influenced Crichton's actions. The situation escalated when the chip took complete control near the end of Season Two, resulting in a Scorpius/Crichton mixed personality and transmitting a message to Scorpius. During this takeover, Harvey even defeated Aeryn Sun in an aerial dogfight, seemingly killing her. Although the chip was removed shortly after Crichton regained control, it was stolen by Scorpius. However, 'Harvey' remained in Crichton's head as a lingering presence into Season Three and beyond, influencing him until Scorpius offered to remove the spillover in early Season Four.
Reader's Guide
The specific mechanics and consequences of this neural technology. The implant creates a 'neural clone' of the user (Scorpius) within the host (Crichton), causing hallucinations that influence behavior. This link is not merely visual; it can take complete control of the host's body, altering personality and enabling actions like aerial dogfights against allies. The interface also functions as a communication bridge, allowing the chip to transmit messages directly to Scorpius when active. Removal is possible, as demonstrated when Crichton regained control after the initial removal, but the clone can persist even without the physical chip.
