Mirabella (TV series)

Mirabella is a Philippine television drama that aired on ABS-CBN in 2014. The series was directed by Erick C. Salud, Jerome C. Pobocan, Jojo A. Saguin, and Claudio "Tots" Sanchez-Mariscal IV, with a cast led by Julia Barretto, Enrique Gil, Sam Concepcion, and Mika dela Cruz. It ran on the network's Primetime Bida block and globally on TFC from March 24 to July 4, 2014, taking over the timeslot of *The Legal Wife* and later succeeded by *Sana Bukas pa ang Kahapon*. The series is also available for streaming on YouTube.

The story follows Daisy, a woman who catches a judge's eye after joining a beauty contest. When the judge's wife Olivia discovers the affair, she curses Daisy using a ritual involving a mysterious tree, causing Daisy's skin to become wood-like. After her mother's death, Daisy's daughter Mira is raised by her aunt and inherits the same wooden skin. Mira endures bullying and ridicule but maintains a positive outlook until a boy she likes betrays her. Overwhelmed by torment, she seeks revenge. With the help of a flower blooming from her mother's statue, she temporarily breaks the curse and becomes a model named Bella, targeting those who hurt her.

The main protagonist is Mira Arboleda (Julia Barretto), with Enrique Gil as Jeremy Palmera and Sam Concepcion as Terrence Laurel. Mika dela Cruz plays antagonist Iris F. Robles. Other cast members include Pokwang, John Lapus, Mylene Dizon, James Blanco, and Gloria Diaz, with supporting roles from Arlene Muhlach, Liza Diño, and DJ Durano. Extended cast includes Makisig Morales, Alora Sasam, Diego Loyzaga, and others. Guest stars include Angel Jacob and Marina Benipayo, with special participation from Dimples Romana as Daisy and Alysson McBride as young Mira.

The soundtrack features "Sabihin Mo Sa Akin" by Klarisse de Guzman and "Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka" by Aiza Seguerra.

Originally announced in May 2013 as an original concept, the project was developed by Dreamscape Entertainment into a story described as "equally exciting and equally beautiful." Some early reports speculated about an adaptation of a novel, but this has not been reliably confirmed.

Cast changes occurred: Diego Loyzaga and Kiko Estrada were initially part of the main cast but were replaced by Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion; Estrada returned to *Annaliza*, while Loyzaga stayed in a supporting role.
