La Luna Sangre (meaning "the blood moon") is a Philippine fantasy television drama produced by ABS-CBN. It serves as the final chapter of the Moonstone trilogy, following the series *Lobo* and *Imortal*. The show was directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng, Richard I. Arellano, Frasco S. Mortiz, and Rory Quintos. Its cast includes Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, and Angel Locsin (appearing only in flashbacks/archival footage). It ran on the network's Primetime Bida block and globally on TFC from June 19, 2017, to March 2, 2018, taking over the slot of *My Dear Heart* and later succeeded by *The Blood Sisters*.
The story centers on a prophecy about the Blood Moon, which foretells that the child of the most powerful vampire and the chosen werewolf will end the reign of a vampire marked by a cursed ink ("sumpang tintâ"). After the righteous vampires and werewolves defeat Lucas and his allies, Mateo (played by a different actor or appearing only in flashbacks), Lia (Angel Locsin, appearing only in flashbacks/archival footage), and their daughter Malia Rodriguez (Kathryn Bernardo) live as powerless humans in the fictional Philippine province of San Isidro. Sandrino (Richard Gutierrez), also called Supremo and the son of Magnus, orders his forces to hunt the Rodriguez family to stop the prophecy and secure his own power. Even as a mortal child without abilities, Malia's bloodline threatens Supremo. He kills Mateo and Lia, but the werewolf Baristo (Joross Gamboa) carries the seven-year-old Malia to safety at a secret LLU base in Tanay, Rizal.
In Act One, Malia is 21 when Supremo finds the camp and slaughters everyone. Supremo and his vampires take over LLU's business and political influence, blending into metropolitan society. Over the 14 years since the massacre, the peaceful coexistence of the three species that LLU had built collapses. Werewolves hide, and humans are again in danger. Many LLU leaders flee the country. A few survivors regroup in Manila, where Malia meets Tristan (Daniel Padilla), a young man seeking revenge for his father's death at the hands of vampires. Tristan joins a secret youth vigilante group called Moonchasers, which tracks and kills vampires and protects Supremo's targets.
