Five-O Poker
A poker variant where players compete across five simultaneous hands.
Five-O Poker is a social network game that uses the same hand rankings as standard poker. It is a heads-up game between two players. Each player is dealt five cards one at a time, alternating between players, and all these cards are placed face-up in a row. During the game, players take turns drawing a card from the deck and placing it face-up on top of one of their five existing cards, gradually building a column, which represents a single poker hand.
Players must add one card to each of their five columns before they can add a second card to any column, ensuring all columns grow at the same pace. The fourth card in each column is placed face-down, while the fifth card is placed face-up. This means four out of the five cards in each hand are visible to both players. The key difference from other poker variants is that players are competing with five separate hands simultaneously.
Once all five hands are complete, there is a single round of betting. To determine the winner, each of a player’s five hands is compared to the opponent’s corresponding hand. The player who wins three or more of these five matchups is the victor, unless a player folds during the betting round. If a player wins all five hands, that is called a “Five-O” win.
